GUJRANWALA, Nov 15: A minor housemaid was burnt alive and the wife of her employer was injured in a fire caused by gas leak in Cantonment on Saturday.

About six-year-old Beenish was employed by Ashfaq Butt. She was assisting Butt’s wife Shazia in the kitchen when the gas leak caused a fire. As a result, Beenish died at the scene and Shazia was injured. Shazia was taken to a hospital in a critical condition.

Rescuers extinguished the fire.
