HYDERABAD, Nov 14: Anti-Terrorism Court judge Hyderabad Akhlaq Hussain Larik on Friday acquitted two activists of Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM) in an explosion case for lack of evidence, following conclusion of their trial in central prison Hyderabad.
The activists Muzaffar Bhutto and Ali Asghar Shah were booked by the Hussainabad police station in 2005 on the charge of exploding the high tension electricity lines in their area.
The accused were represented by Nisar Durrani advocate. The counsel argued before the court that prosecution had failed to prove the charges against his clients and the entire prosecution story suffers from deficiencies in evidence.
He said that the story narrated by prosecution is not reliable as even identification parade of accused was done after a delay of one year. Likewise, he said, the evidence of foot-tracker who had identified foot prints of accused is not a credible evidence.
