ICL players may play for Pakistan

LAHORE, Nov 10: All Pakistani cricketers, who have been banned by the PCB for playing for the rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) are likely to be available for the Pakistan team next year.

Well informed sources, told Dawn that Mohammad Yousuf, who had recently joined the ICL, after developing differences with the PCB, was most likely to be available again for his country, as the policy of imposing ban on such players, was about to be rescinded.

Though the PCB’s Governing Board did not discuss the matter of the ICL players in detail on Monday, sources said a move was being initiated at the ICC level not to support the stand of the BCCI to ban such players. Besides Yousuf various Pakistani cricketers including Imran Farhat,Imran Nazir, Shahid Nazir, Inzamam-ul-Haq, Rana Naved-ul-Hasan, Shahid Yousuf, Hasan Raza had joined the ICL, thus, they are not allowed to play in and for Pakistan at this point in time.—Sports Reporter
