MIANWALI, Nov 8: A district and sessions judge on Saturday adopted a novel way of dispensing justice and helping Balochistan’s quake-hit people, simultaneously, when he ordered that the amount of a fine imposed on a convict be deposited with the rehabilitation fund for the purpose.
A litigant, Abdul Sattar Khan, filed an application in the court of judge Sohail Nasir, seeking transfer of his case from the court of Mianwali Civil Judge Muhammad Jehangir Awan, leveling some allegation against the learned officer.
However, in the court, the applicant failed to establish the allegations.
The district and sessions judge, dismissing the application, observed in his order: “Trend of moving (case) transfer applications, particularly in this part of the country is becoming a fashion.
Leveling false and frivolous allegations, particularly about the reputation of even honest judicial officers, is assuming an alarming proportion. The litigants, just for their own cause, are in the habit to move the applications without any base…”
The judge slapped Rs10,000 fine on the applicant for leveling baseless charges against a law officer and ordered the amount be deposited with the quake victims’ rehabilitation fund.
