Khurram comes from behind to succeed

KARACHI, Nov 5: Pakistan’s Khurram Agha cruised into the pre-quarter-final round of the IBSF World snooker championship in Wels, Austria, on Tuesday evening while his compatriot Saleh Mohammad failed to move ahead.

According to the message received here on Wednesday, Khurram fought hard to register an exciting 5-4 win over Hong Kong’s Au Chi-Wai in the contest which extended to three hours.

Khurram was 0-2 down but turned the tables on Au Chi-Wai with controlled potting and brilliant tactical positional play.

He won 27-107, 40-87, 77-31, 42-108, 11-88, 67-64, 73-0, 72-21, 55-2.

Whereas Saleh Mohammad was shown the door by Ireland’s Colm Gilcreest who defeated him 70-16, 57-50, 57-16, 61-47, 14-75, 36-64, 67-21.—APP
