LAKKI MARWAT, Nov 5: The federal government has sanctioned Rs50 million development package for the Frontier Regions (FRs), said MNA Zafar Baig Bhittani here on Wednesday.
Addressing Bhittani tribal elders from FR Lakki Marwat at the District Headquarters Complex in Tajazai, he said that funds would be spent on the well-being of the people of the six Frontier Regions.
Earlier the elders told the MNA that the Bhittani tribesmen had been confronted with problems in health, education, communication and electricity sectors. They said that special priority should be given to construction of roads, setting up of colleges and hospitals and launching electrification schemes. Mr Bhittani assured that maximum quantum of funds would be set aside for fulfilling the longstanding demands of Bhittani tribesmen.
He said that execution of uplift package in letter and spirit would help provide the basic amenities of life to the tribal people. Mr Bhittani also announced that ten thousand families of Frontier Region, Lakki would be provided financial aid under Benazir Income Support Programme. —Correspondent
