FAISALABAD, Nov 4: Farming community must be familiar with modern techniques being employed in the agriculture sector and it was responsibility of agriculture scientists to impart training to growers.
University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) vice-chancellor Dr Iqrar Ahmed said this while addressing the concluding ceremony of two-day international dairy conference and Kissan Mela on Tuesday.

He said the UAF would organise such events in future to enhance cooperation between farmers and scientists to strengthen national economy and cope with food security challenges.
The vice-chancellor said that rural population should also be informed about livestock sector as breeding of buffalos, goats and cows and their meat could help farmers earn foreign exchange.
Besides, he said, the UAF would also organise a horse and cattle show in which farmers of different areas would be invited. He hoped that the government would also ask different departments rendering their services for agriculture sector to organise such events to boost the agriculture sector.
