BANNU, May 10: The district administration of Bannu on Thursday arrested many workers and leaders of some banned extremist organizations.
Activists of the banned Sipah-i-Sahaba Pakistan and Jaish-i-Muhammad were taken into custody in the wake of renewed terrorist incidents in the country.
The detainees were taken to unknown places for interrogation.
WALKER’s TEACHERS FREED: The two teachers of Abdul Hameed (John Walker), the American Taliban fighter, who were detained by the administration the other day, were released after preliminary interrogation on Thursday.
CONVENTION: A day-long convention was held on Thursday for the Christian women living in the southern parts of the province. About 150 women attended the convention. Speakers discussed the problems being faced by their community.
