Allott named NZC general manager

WELLINGTON, Nov 1: Former international fast bowler Geoff Allott was appointed on Saturday as general manager of New Zealand Cricket (NZC).

Allott, 36, will oversee cricket operations and the coaching, management and selection of the New Zealand national side and other elite teams.

Allott played 10 Tests and 31 limited-overs matches for New Zealand between 1996 and 2000. He was the equal highest wicket taker, with 20, at the 1999 World Cup.—AP
