Dist court evacuated after bomb hoax

LARKANA, Nov 1: Personnel of police, rangers and bomb disposal squad evacuated building of the district and sessions court on Saturday after a court official received a phone call, cautioning him about a bomb in the building.

The call proved to be a hoax as the security officials did not find any explosives after having searched the court premises thoroughly. The office superintendent of session court, Pir Bakhsh Khokhar, called police and other agencies after he received the phone call informing him about the bomb.

Police also evacuated the old building of sessions court, which housed the courts of additional session judges and searched them as an extra precautionary measure but the call turned out to be a hoax.

Police later picked up Aslam Jagirani and Aijaz Jagirani, owners of a public call office on Hospital road from where the phone call had been made and grilled them about the caller.

MURDER: Sajid Jagirani, a tractor driver, was shot at and killed and Saeed Abro, a pedestrian, was injured in an attack in Mubarak Mirbahar village in the limits of Baqapur police station on Saturday.

According to villagers, the attack was an offshoot of an old enmity.

Meanwhile, four-year-old Farida was run over by a speeding tractor in Kusar Mill Mohalla in the limits of Haidri police station.
