KARACHI: Leaders of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry have termed the decrease in petrol and diesel prices “insignificant”.
KCCI President Anjum Nisar, Senior Vice President Muhammad Jawed Bilwani, Vice President Mohammad Ali and others including Siraj Kassem Teli in a joint press statement on Saturday welcomed the recent decision of the government to bring down the prices of petrol and diesel by Rs5 and Rs4 per litre respectively was positive.
However they said that the government was taking long time to pass on the benefit of decrease of fuel prices to the general public and business community.
They were of the view that the latest decrease was an eyewash and they should have been reduced at least by Rs10 per litre.
They suggested that the government should immediately take steps for further decrease in fuel prices as a step to improve the economy.—APP
