KARACHI: Lawyer found dead

KARACHI, Oct 31: The trussed up body of a lawyer was found in his Manzoor Colony house on Friday.

Police said the body of Malik Qayyum Awan was found at his second floor apartment.

They said the neighbours had complained of stench coming from the apartment. The police opened the door and recovered the body.

The body was wrapped in blankets and the victim’s face was also covered.

The body was a few days old and, apparently, the victim was strangled, police added.

The victim owned the apartment building where he used to live alone. The body was shifted to the JPMC for post-mortem.

Police have registered a case against unidentified suspects.

Meanwhile, a young man was gunned down by unidentified men in Lyari on Friday.

Police said Iftikhar was shot dead at a cycle shop on Ahmed Shah Bukhari Road, Phool Patti lane.

The victim was the brother of a local Pakistan People’s Party leader, Mir Ashfaq Baloch, police said.

The victim’s body was shifted to the Civil Hospital for post-mortem.
