LAHORE, Oct 30: A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death allegedly by his two brothers-in-law over a marriage dispute in Pak Town of the Factory Area on Thursday.
The victim identified as Abdul Ghafoor had an argument with brothers -- Ghulam Ahmad alias Kala and Ashraf alias Achhu -- of his first wife over his second marriage.
After an exchange of hot words, the accused attacked Ghafoor with knives and killed him with repeated strikes and fled.
Factory Area ASP Sarfraz Ahmad Virk said Ghulam Ahmad had been arrested while his brother managed to escape.
SUCCUMBS TO INJURIES: A middle-aged woman succumbed to her injuries at a hospital on Thursday, two days after she was shot at by three people near Bhatta Chowk over eve-teasing.
South Cantonment police said Ayesha Bibi, 50, was passing through Bhatta Chowk when Altaf Jutt and his two sons, Mussadaq and Ali, started teasing her. Ayesha reprimanded the accused and in the meantime constable Haroon of Abbas Lines also reached there.
The constable also stopped them from harassment on which the three accused opened fire, injuring Ayesha, Haroon and passer-by Sardar Muhammad.
The accused fled from the scene while the victims were taken to Services Hospital.
The police claimed that Altaf Jutt had been arrested and a murder section would be added in the FIR.
