Rs1.5m robbery at judge’s house

LAHORE, Oct 30: Robbers looted cash and valuables worth Rs1.45 million from the house of a civil judge in Makki-Larechs Colony of Mughalpura on Thursday.

Police said five robbers barged in the house of Civil Judge Syed Asghar Ali Jafri at 4:30am, held inmates at gunpoint, collected Rs200,000 in cash, jewellery, three cell phones, cameras, watches and other valuables and fled.

A case was registered on the complaint of Syed Azhar Ali Jafri, son of the judge.

Similarly, four armed men barged in the house of Dr Sohail Sadiq on Sundar Road in City Raiwind police limits and took away cash, jewellery and a cell phone, all worth Rs1.2 million.

As many robbers entered the house of Arif in Chuhng and escaped with Rs35,000 in cash, five-tola gold ornaments, two cell phones and a licensed pistol.

Two robbers entered the house of Shahzad in Umer Colony of Mustafaabad and took away Rs1,000 and two gold bangles.

Two robbers forced their entry into the house of Imran Akbar in Gulshan Ravi and looted Rs150,000 at gunpoint.
