Body found in bag

HYDERABAD, Oct 28: The body of a labourer was found stuffed in a cricket kit-bag near a garbage dump in unit-12 Latifabad Monday night.

He was identified as Mohammad Asif, son of Jalaluddin, resident of Amani Shah Colony, Latifabad-12. He left his house on Sunday to get a pre-paid cell phone card but didn’t return.

He worked as a labourer in shuttering business and had five brothers. He lived with his elder brother, Mohammad Akram.

According to supervising police officer (SPO) Latifabad Ayub Durrani, the man was throttled as no other mark of violence was found on his body during post-mortem examination conducted at the Bhittai hospital.

A case was lodged with A-section police station on the complaint of Islam, the dead man’s brother who claimed that his family had no enmity with anyone.

The complainant said that while returning home he saw people gathered near a laundry shop where an unclaimed body was lying, which was his brother’s.

District Nazim Hyderabad Kanwar Naveed Jamil also arrived at the spot where the body was found on Monday night. He condoled with the bereaved family and assured to trace the killers.

For 1000 seats, 7,300 candidates had appeared in the test.
