SHEIKHUPURA, Oct 27: A factory worker died after being hit by a piece of iron which got separated from a moving rolling machine here on Monday.

Reports said Nisar, father of two, was employed as an operator at Taj Paper and Board Mills located on Lahore Road.

On Monday, he was standing near the rolling machine when an iron piece separated from the machine and hit him. He sustained critical injuries and died prior to any medical aid. Three other labourers also received injuries. Factory Area police are investigating.

ELECTROCUTED: An alleged thief was electrocuted inside an electric shop in Qila Sattar Shah locality.

Reports said Nazir had closed his shop on Sunday. A thief broke into it in a bid to take away valuables. He was electrocuted.

His body was found by Nazir on opening the shop on Monday.

Factory Area police are investigating.

ACCIDENT: A woman was run over and killed by a speeding car near Dogarwal on Narowal Road on Monday.

Saima Bibi was crossing the road when the car ran her over. Narang police are investigating.
