BADIN, Oct 25: The senior vice-chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party Makhdoom Amin Fahim has termed wheat flour shortage a conspiracy against the government and said the crisis will never end until there is no check on its smuggling.

Talking to journalists at the Chehlum of his cousin, Pir Ali Anwar Shah, at Pir Ali Bahadur Shah Siddiqui village of Tando Bago taluka on Friday, Makhdoom said that since PPP had come to power, it had been facing conspiracies.

He said that it was incumbent upon President Asif Ali Zardari to fulfil the promises made by Benazir Bhutto with people. No dam would be constructed on the Indus River and the government would not deceive people and would come up to their expectations, he stressed.

Makhdoom denied reports of being offered any key post in the government but added that he would consider it if any responsibility was given to him.

Thar coal would be hugely beneficial for the people of Sindh and it would be utilised to generate power to meet energy requirements of the province and the country, he said.

He said that each province would get its due share in the National Finance Commission Award.

Dismissing notions he was leaving the party, he said that being a faithful member of the PPP, he would continue to struggle for the party.

Makhdoom said that the problems of party workers would be solved at district level because they were a vital force and a power base for the party.
