QUETTA, Oct 25: Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani on Saturday cancelled a notice issued by the Estate
Officer of Services and General Administration Department asking the residents to vacate their officials quarters located near the provincial secretariat.
According to official sources, the chief minister asked the officials concerned to stop implementation on the notice immediately.
“Till providing alternative accommodation to employees bungalows and colonies should not be demolished,” the chief minister said.
The Estate Officer had issued notices to the residents of the colonies three days ago asking them to vacate the houses within a month saying that the bungalows and houses were a security risk for the secretariat.
The notice asked the residents that they themselves should make arrangements for their accommodation.
PROTEST: Officers and employees of the Radio Pakistan Quetta held on Saturday a demonstration in protest against denial of 20 per cent allowance announced by the federal government in the annual budget.
The employees gathered on the lawns of the PBC building and observed a token strike.
