Kidnapped people rescued

MULTAN, Oct 24: Muzaffargarh and Rajanpur police rescued nine kidnapped people from the custody of dacoits on Friday.

According to Muzaffargarh District Police Officer (DPO) Sahibzada Shehzad Sultan, police from both districts launched the operation after the kidnapping of nine people from Fazilpur in Rajanpur three days ago.

He said police besieged dacoits in the Kutcha area in the riverine belt. He said a stolen tractor was also seized from some “suspects”.

He refused to disclose the number of arrested people, saying police were investigating suspects. He said police would continue the operation till the arrest of all criminals.—Staff Correspondent
