SANGHAR, Oct 24: The Trade Union Alliance on Friday demanded that the government should announce de-linking value of Pakistani rupee from the US dollar.

The alliance leaders said at a meeting participated by workers from agricultural workshop, Wapda, highways, Primary Teachers’ Association, municipal employees, Beldar Association, paramedics and All-Pakistan Clerks Association demanded that Qadirpur gas field should not be privatised.

They said all the major industries like PTCL, Wapda, banks and gas and petroleum fields were like spinal cord for the country’s economy and demanded controlling prices and improving law and order situation.

Sher Nizamani, Hassan Askari, Zahid Qadri and Bilawal Domki demanded that the government should immediately announce de-linking rupees from the US dollar and advised against raising gas and power tariff. The salaries should be increased in proportion to price hike, they urged.

UTP SCAPE: Tando Adam police on Friday picked up several members of Jatoi tribe over murder of an under trial prisoner, who was killed a day ago by his rivals in court premises in the presence of police.

The prisoner Shah Dino Jatoi was brought to the court of additional district and sessions judge Tando Adam on Thursday where he was shot dead by his opponents.

The deceased was facing trial for a murder, which took place about two months ago in Qaiser Ghot village near Tando Adam. The other prisoners including his brother, Imam Din Jatoi, who were also brought to court with the deceased, attacked police because they held them responsible for the attack and murder.

Imam Din told journalists that he had forewarned the police about danger to their lives and told them they could be attacked any time but the police did not pay any heed to their pleas.

Tando Adam police have registered a case on a complaint lodged by Imam Din and nominated Vengus Jatoi, Nazir, Nasrullah and Iqbal.

Police are reportedly conducting raids to arrest the accused.
