MIRPURKHAS, Oct 21: The office-bearers of the Mirpurkhas Chakki Owners’ Association have urged the relevant authorities to increase their wheat quota to overcome shortage of wheat flour.

In a joint statement issued here on Tuesday, the association’s chairman, Liaquat Ali Qureshi, and vice-chairman Rasxheed Abbasi said that in a recent meeting with the Sindh food director they had forwarded the same demand.

They said that the official had sought a report from deputy director food Mirpurkhas for increasing the wheat quota.

They said that in the open market wheat was available at Rs3,000 per 100kg. They said if their wheat quota was not increased by next week, acute shortage of flour would be created in the district.—Correspondent
