Nato not to de-freeze ties with Moscow

BRUSSELS, Oct 21: The Nato military alliance has no intention of de-freezing relations with Russia, despite a meeting between US and Russian military chiefs of staff on Tuesday, a spokesman said.

“Nato has neither discussed nor abandoned the position adopted by the allies,” in early September to freeze high-level talks with Moscow over its military action in Georgia, spokesman James Appathurai said.

“Relations at the level of ambassadors in the Nato-Russia Council have still not resumed,” he said.—AFP
