HYDERABAD, Oct 19: Journalists held demonstrations and observed token hunger strikes across the province on Sunday in protest against police failure to recover Jam Nawab Hussain Samoon, father of a senior journalist, Lala Rehman Samoon.
The Hyderabad Press Club had given the call for protest and hunger strike against police failure to locate Jam NAwab who was kidnapped in Ramazan on Sept 21 outside his house when he went out to offer morning prayers.
In Hyderabad, journalists led by the secretary of the press club, Mahesh Kumar, observed token hunger strike and raised slogans, demanding immediate recovery of Samoon’s father. They said that the police had so far failed to ensure his recovery from the clutches of kidnappers.
In Tando Allahyar, Nawabshah, Naushahro Feroze, Moro, Mithi, Shikarpur and Badin, journalists held demonstrations.
