Karsaz blast victims remembered

HYDERABAD, Oct 18: Like elsewhere across the country, the first death anniversary of Karsaz twin blasts was observed in interior parts of the province.

In Hyderabad, a memorial function was held on the lawns of the district council building, which was attended by MNA Ameer Ali Shah Jamote, acting president PPP Hyderabad district, Amanullah Siyal, general secretary Mir Fateh Talpur, Syed Fayaz Shah, divisional president youth wing, Ahsan Abro and a large number of party workers.

The speakers paid tribute to the martyrs of Karsaz and said that they had sacrificed their lives for the slain party chairperson Benazir Bhutto and the cause of democracy. They said that their sacrifices would not go in vain. They demanded that the perpetrators of this heinous crime should be arrested.

PLF: Peoples Lawyers’ Forum led by Choudhry Basheer Ahmed, AAG Allah Bachayo Soomro, Fazal Qadir Memon, Abdul Khaliq Leghari and others also observed death anniversary of the martyrs of Karsaz. They held Fateha Khawani for the departed souls and demanded the arrest of the culprits

Our Shikarpur correspondent adds: PPP activists observed first anniversary of the Karsaz blast victims. A large number of party workers and citizens participated in the function. Quran Khawani was also held on the occasion. District president PPP, Qazi Naeem Akbar presided over the function.

Speaking on the occasion, PPP district general secretary, Naseer Ahmed Lodhi advocate, Syed Gulab Shah, Abdul Hafeez Pirzado, Agha Amber Khan, Abdul Qadir Chachar, Begum Shamshad Jokhio and others paid rich tributes to the martyrs of democracy and prayed to Almighty Allah to rest their souls in peace and give courage to the aggrieved families to bear the loss of their loved ones.

Our Larkana correspondent adds: The Pakistan People’s Party, Larkana observed the first anniversary of the blast victims at Garhi Khuda Bakhsh Bhutto and Naudero.

Quran Khwani was held at the President’s House, Naudero, under the auspices of the Pakistan People’s Party, Larkana district. Prayers were also offered for the departed souls and for Benazir Bhutto, who was assassinated later in Rawalpindi.

Our Khairpur correspondent adds: Two separate functions were held at Jilani House and Wassan House here on Saturday in memory of Karsaz blast martyrs. The speakers on the occasion said that the martyrs of Karsaz incident were in fact the martyrs of democracy and also the martyrs of national unity who sacrificed their lives while protecting PPP leader Benazir Bhutto.

Our Mirpurkhas correspondent adds: Quran khawani and fateha khawani were held at the Pakistan People’s Party’s city office here on Saturday to remember the martyrs of Karsaz blast in Karachi.

Our Jacobabad correspondent adds: PPP activists held a memorial function at the residence of district president of the party, Mohammad Aslam Abro, to mark the first anniversary of Karsaz blast victims.
