ISLAMABAD, Oct 16: Upsets in the Pakistan Futures International Tennis Championship continued on Thursday as China’s fifth seed Hsin-Han Lee crushed top seed Bogdan Leonte of Romania in straight sets here at the PTF Tennis Complex.
In the first set, the score went up to 3-all as both the players held their respective serves. Lee built up the winning lead 5-3 breaking the eighth game of Leonte in which he conceded two double faults. The Chinese won the first set 6-3 holding his service with the help of two aces.
In the second set, Lee boosted the lead to 3-1 by breaking Leonte’s first game. Lee took the set 6-4 and the match.
In the other quarter-finals, Russia’s Mikhail Vasiliev, Great Britain’s Maniel Bains and Adrian Sikora of Slovakia won their respective matches.
Bains continued his wining streak, hammering the seventh seed Filenkov 6-3, 6-2.
In-form Sikora routed eighth seed Alekseenko Vadim of Russia 6-3, 6-3 while third seed Vasiliev beat sixth seed Feaver James of Great Britain 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.
