KARACHI, Oct 14: Skipper Aaqib Rizvi played a sterling hand as City School Darakshan held their nerves to clinch an exciting three-run victory over the Lyceum School in the first KGA Ian Fyfe memorial inter-school Twenty20 cricket tournament at the KGA Ground here on Tuesday.
Opener Aaqib struck 79 off 66 balls with the help of eight fours and one six while dominating an unbroken sixth-wicket stand of 78 with Gulsher Hussain (20 off 15 balls) to help City School collect 124 for five.
The Lyceum School responded with 121 for five despite unbeaten knocks from opener Osama Ahsan (40 off 55 balls, three fours) and skipper Ali Mahmood (32 off 36 balls, two fours).
Gulsher also shone with his leg-spinners and claimed two for 24 in four overs.
