BAHAWALPUR, Oct 14: The Association of Paediatric Surgeons of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Federation of Associations of Paediatric Surgeons of Saarc countries, will host a paediatric conference at Quaid-e-Azam Medical College (QAMC) on Oct 18-19.
Prof Dr Muhammad Zubair, head of the QAMC Paediatric Surgery Department and chairman of the conference organising committee, says the conference will be participated in by more than two hundred delegates from Pakistan and abroad. He says Saarc surgeons’ association president Dr Devendra Kumar Gupta is also expected to attend the conference.
Prominent surgeons will read their papers on topics related to paediatric surgery and participate in panel discussions during the conference, which is based on the theme of ‘Continence for all’. The local administration is taking measures for the delegates’ security.
TOURISM: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz MNA Baleeghur Rehman has said measures will be taken to promote tourism here.
Speaking at a press conference, Rehman said a lake had been planned near the city along the River Sutlej and a proposal in this regard had been sent to the Punjab government for approval. He said Lal Sohanra park would be developed to attract tourists.
The MNA said a project relating to installation of a thermal power plant had been submitted to the federal government for approval.
