DERA ISMAIL KHAN, May 9: The widespread anger against the American forces among various tribal factions in South Waziristan Agency has made the US/Pakistan authorities to postpone their operation against Al-Qaeda and Taliban members for a few days.

The US commandos, who had arrived in Wana a few days back, have been shifted three kilometres inside the Afghan border. They have established their posts there to monitor the Al-Qaeda/Taliban movements inside the agency.

These commandos are camping at the residence of Machadad Khan Kharoti — an alliance leader. According to the sources, 24 US commandos led by Sher Ahmad Jidran — a Pushtoon commander of Northern Alliance — arrived in Wana the other day and visited Ziri Noor Refugee Camp.

The 118 US soldiers, who had reportedly been arrested by Taliban/Al-Qaeda activists during Shahi Kot fight, were thought to be lodged in this camp, but none was found during commandos’ visit. According to the sources, the Taliban commanders have kept these soldiers in three different locations.

Meanwhile, the tribes are absolutely enraged at the presence of US commandos in SWA. Pamphlets have been distributed inscribed with an edict (Fatwa), calling on people to gun down every American, whenever and wherever found.

Religious leaders are leading the campaign against the US commandos. A big rally is also expected on Friday at Wana against US atrocities in Afghanistan which will be taken out from Spin Mosque. Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman of JUI (F) is expected to lead this rally.
