Unannounced power outages

OKARA, Oct 11: The Anjumn-i-Tajran and other social organisation have decided holding protest demonstrations if unscheduled loadshedding continued in violation of an agreement between Lahore Electricity Supply Company (Lesco) and traders’ body some six weeks ago.

The agreement was made between Lesco chief Muhammad Akram Arain and Anjumn-i-Tajran office-bearers Malik Qadeer Husain, Malik Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Yousaf Billa and Abdul Waheed Bhuller in the presence of Punjab Labour Minister Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sohna and DPO Ihsan Sadiq at the Civil Rest House.

Meanwhile, Okara Chamber of Commerce and Industry president Muhammad Arshad Iqbal and vice-president Chaudhry Shafqat Rasool have also demanded Lesco chief to take notice of the unscheduled power outages.

FINED: District Coordination Officer (DCO) Sohail Shahzad has fined seven tandoor owners for selling roti weighing less than the prescribed weight.
