MUZAFFARGARH, Oct 8: Muzaffargarh canal will be closed on Oct 13 and opened on Nov 10 after repair.

Agriculture EDO Chaudhry Shehzad Sabir told this correspondent that the canal which irrigated 800,000 acre land would be closed on Oct 13 for repair.

“Cotton picking season has started and therefore land did not need water.”

On the other hand, farmers of the district have demanded to open the canal by the end of this month otherwise wheat sowing would be late.
