MUZAFFARGARH, Sept 26: Fourteen jockeys from Hamzawali have received compensation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), dished out by the Child Protection Court in Lahore on Sept 25.
Syed Ali Raza, Multan child protection officer, told Dawn the UAE government had promised to give $1,000 each to those jockeys who were disabled as a result of camel racing, and 14 cases were approved by the Punjab government and sent to the UAE.
He said compensation would be given to other jockeys in phases as well.
