HYDERABAD, Sept 24: Bodies of two army jawans who laid down their lives fighting against militants in the north-western areas were laid to rest on Wednesday in their native villages Tando Allahyar and Sukkur.

Jawan Qadir Bux Leghari was buried in his native graveyard in Pir Ashraf Qureshi village near Tando Allahyar with full military honours.

Qadir, son of Abdul Aziz Leghari, who was 28 at the time of martyrdom lived in Haji Usman Leghari village. He had joined the 16th Sindh Regiment 11 years ago and was posted recently in Madeen area of Swat.

He was killed in a suicide attack on an army check-post two days ago in which two other jawans were also martyred.

An army squad led by Captain Hayat brought Qadir’s body to his village. They gave him army salute before and after the burial ceremony and hoisted a national flag at his grave.

Another army jawan, who laid down his life in line of duty in Wana on Monday, was laid to rest at his native village, Soomar Malik, near Mirpur Mathelo on Wednesday.

Zubair Malik, 21, who had been deployed to Wana to fight against militants, was martyred on Monday.

His dead body was brought to Pano Akil cantonment on Wednesday morning, where his namaz-i-janaza was offered and later he was laid to rest in his native graveyard in Soomar Malik village this afternoon.
