KARACHI: Two killed in Korangi

KARACHI, Sept 21: Two persons were killed on Sunday in separate incidents in Korangi, police and witnesses said.

They said a 35-year-old guard of a private security agency was shot dead by bandits at a petrol pump near Korangi Crossing.

The police said the bandits riding a car reached the Lakha Petrol Pump a little before noon and shot dead the security guard, Zaman Khan, when he put up resistance.

They said the culprits also took away the repeater gun of the victim, a resident of Bilal Colony, Korangi.

The body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for a post-mortem examination. Sources at the medico-legal department said that the victim was shot two bullets in his upper torso from a point blank range as the bullets went through his body.

The victim, father of two, hailed from Chakwal, Punjab.

Meanwhile, a 65-year-old motorcyclist was killed when he was knocked down by a fast-moving water tanker near Korangi Crossing.

The body was shifted to the JPMC where the deceased was identified as Saeed Ahmed, a resident of Korangi.

The driver of the water tanker fled.
