Labourer buried alive

LAHORE, Sept 20: A labourer was buried alive and four were trapped under the mud while digging a basement for an under-construction building at Liberty Market early on Saturday, rescuers and police said.

Five labourers were digging a basement 15 feet below the ground level when a thick layer of mud fell on them. Their co-workers and witnesses informed Gulberg police and Rescue 1122 about the incident.

The rescuers retrieved body of Arif, 35, and took injured labourer Muhammad Rafique to Services Hospital. Three others, Sultan Shah, Nazir and Sadiq, were provided first aid at the scene.
