RAWALPINDI, Sept 18: Pakistan and Argentine have reiterated their desire to expand bilateral cooperation in divergent fields particularly in the areas of trade, economy and defence.
This was expressed by Minister for Defence Chaudhry Ahmad Mukhtar and Argentinean ambassador Rodolfo Martin Saravia at a meeting at the Ministry of Defence here on Thursday.
They also discussed the possibility of undertaking joint venture in the area of defence. It was agreed to increase cooperation in training to the military personnel.
While talking about anti-terror efforts made by Pakistan, the defence minister said the international community needed to acknowledge Pakistan’s role in the war on terror and should extend its support in stemming the tide of terrorism.
Mr Mukhtar said that terrorism could only be defeated by addressing its root causes like alleviation of poverty and providing economic opportunities as well as educational and health facilities.
