Bid to smuggle 2,400 flour bags foiled

LAYYAH, Sept 17: Kot Sultan police claimed foiling a bid to smuggle 2,400 flour bags to Rahim Yar Khan here on Wednesday.

SHO Khalid Rauf intercepted three trucks loaded with 2,400 flour bags of 50kg each. Owner Nadir Khan presented an official permit which food inspector Mahmood declared it fake when the SHO got it verified. Police later took all the three trucks into custody besides arresting accused Rafiq, Umer Farooq, Ahmad Bux, Nadir Khan and Idrees. The sixth accused, Irfan Khan, managed to escape. A case has been registered against the sixth accused.
