KARACHI, Sept 10: The Jamaat-i-Islami has condemned the 40 per cent increase in power tariff reportedly effected by the government and the uncontrolled rise in the prices of consumer items.

Describing inflation as “economic exploitation of 160 million people of Pakistan”, the party’s city chief, Mohammad Hussain Mehanti, said on Wednesday that there was no justification for any increase in the power tariff while the petroleum prices in the international market had plunged remarkably.
