MULTAN, Sept 9: Both the benches of high court bar associations of southern Punjab of the Lahore High Court will lock up all courts for two days – Thursday and Friday to press the demand for the restoration of judges.
At a meeting of presidents and secretaries of Lahore High Court’s Multan and Bahawalpur benches and all bars of the districts of southern Punjab, called here on Tuesday, it was decided that all the courts would remain locked up on Thursday and Friday.
The meeting presided over by Multan High Court Bar Association President Mahmood Ashraf Khan decided that the courtrooms would be locked to build a pressure on the government for the restoration of judges.
Ashraf Khan said the decision was taken after a consultation with the president and the secretary-general of the Bahawalpur High Court Bar Association.Presidents and secretaries-general of bar associations of Bahawalpur, Lodhran, Dera Ghazi Khan, Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, Dunyapur, Kabirwala, Mailsi, Multan, Karoor Lal Esan, Kot Addu and Chichawatni participated in the meeting.
