LAHORE, Aug 31: Prime Minister’s Adviser on Interior Rehman A Malik has invited JI Amir Qazi Husain Ahmed to join a `big Girga’ at Parachinar, seeking his cooperation for the establishment of peace in the troubled area.
Malik also briefed the JI amir about the efforts of the government to control law and order situation in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata). Speaking at a joint press conference with Qazi Husain Ahmed here at Mansoora on Sunday, the adviser said the government was not getting dictation from any foreign power but consulting the political forces inside the country in its war against terrorism.
He said his visit to Mansoora was aimed at sharing information and seeking guidance from the JI amir to improve the situation there.
To a question, he said policies of Pervez Musharraf had already been changed and the present government believed in use of force as a last option that was the reason casualty rate in activities of law-enforcement agencies had been substantially reduced.
“Our intelligence agencies are working for no one else but for us and following best qualitative standards,” he said.
To another question Rehman Malik said the judges took oath on their own desire.
To yet another question, he said some foreign elements were also involved in disrupting the situation and the foreign-made weapons were being used by terrorists.
Qazi Husain Ahmed said: “Political dialogue is spirit of democracy for which JI's doors are always open. Allah is the supreme power and the government should implement Quran and Sunnah without getting impressed by any power other than Allah.”
He said he had talked to the adviser for changing policies of Pervez Musharraf in Fata because in his views Musharraf's policies were root cause of the whole disturbance.—APP
