DERA GHAZI KHAN, May 7: Electricity feeders of the localities concerned will be shut down, if the influential people continued taking power theft as their privilege.

This was stated by Multan Electricity Power Company chief Brig Abbas Ali at a news conference at department’s divisional office here on Tuesday.

He said no project of power supply to tribal area was under consideration as it was not technically feasible.

He informed that seven new sub-divisions had been established in the district to facilitate 390 million consumers.

He told newsmen that a sum of Rs530 million was outstanding against 385 tubewell owners of arid zone of tehsil Taunsa Sharif.

If the dues were not paid till May 30, an action would be taken against those responsible, Mr Ali said.

Tubewell owner of Taunsa Sharif had already been given package, according to which, some 33 per cent of the charges would be contributed by provincial government and Wapda, he concluded.
