HYDERABAD, Aug 30: The additional district judge-III on Saturday allowed pre-arrest bail for a sum of Rs25,000 each to District Nazim Tando Allahyar Dr Rahila Gul Magsi, her husband and taluka nazim Chambar Fayyaz Sheikh, her brother and former revenue minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi among 14 others in a case of attempted murder.
Azizuddin Khwaja advocate who represented the accused denied charges of attempted murder and argued that even one believed that such an incident did take place then why it was that no one was injured. The FIR was in fact part of a series of vindictive actions being taken against his clients, he said.
He said that the district nazim had sought foolproof security in the district on June 27 when she was to present budgetary estimates before the district council.
On the one hand the accused claimed that they had been attacked and on the other they were fit enough to leave for district council’s budget session that day, he said.
He produced letters written by the district nazim to different authorities, demanding security arrangements and said that his clients had to seek protective bail from Sindh High Court because they were unable to reach sessions court.
