LAHORE, Aug 26: A fine unbeaten century by Ali Asad put Pakistan Academy in a strong position against their Zimbabwean counterparts in the four-day match at the Harare Sports Club, Harare according to information received here on Tuesday.
Ali Asad hit 100, while Anwar Ali (90), Ahmed Shahzad (76), Asad Shafiq (58), Fawad Alam (55) and Fahad Iqbal (50) as Pakistan piled up 476-7 in the first innings in 127.3 overs.
In reply, Zimbabwe were bundled out for 189 in 81.4 overs as Anwar also excelled with the leather taking four for 41. Fellow paceman Mohammad Aamir claimed three for 37 to help Pakistan take a big lead of 287.
Instead of enforcing the follow-on, Pakistan opted to bat again and collected 103-2 before declaring their second innings after obtaining an overall imposing lead of 390. Khurram Shahzad (51) was the top scorer.
In the second innings, the home team had lost two wickets for 28 by close of third day play.
