Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Aug 26: The activity at the Karachi port is expected to gather a fresh momentum on Wednesday as a dozen ships are due to arrive carrying containers and cars and to load cement and molasses, according to KPT sources.

Three ships, Noor-e-Madina to load clinker, Mol Admiration and Bunga Teratai Dua to unload and load containers were berthed after the departure of Hyundai Admiral and Bunga Teratai.

Oram Bolossom and Iran Rajai are due to sail out on Wednesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was on the lower side owing to lesser berthing of ships, falling to 66,858 tons comprising 12,170 tons of export cargo and 54,688 tons of import tonnage respectively.

The following ships are due on Wednesday: Neptune to load 27,000 tons of molasses, Pro Victor to load naphtha, Lucky Arrow to load 11,500 tons of cement, Kapitan Byankin, Kou Ekspres, APL Jebel Ali, APL Shenzhen, Soon Fu with containers and Nova Sky to unload cars, Industrial Dawn with project cargo.
