RAWALPINDI, Aug 24: Another woman has been found murdered in the city in the last 24 hours.
Earlier on Saturday, a decomposed body of a girl, wrapped in a piece of cloth, was found from an area in the jurisdiction of the airport police.
The latest victim is Zeba Bibi, wife of Sarfraz Masih, who had been missing from her residence in Adiala since August 19. Her decomposed body was found lying in a field on Sunday evening.
The husband of the deceased woman told the police that his wife left her house six days ago to help the family of an army officer to pack their luggage, but did not return. Some passers-by later spotted the body of the missing woman and informed the local police.
The police and the doctor in the hospital said Zeba, who was a mother of four, had been shot dead by some unidentified persons who then threw her body in the field.
The body was sent to the hospital for postmortem.
Sarfraz Masih has identified five persons, including two women, as his wife’s killers.
Meanwhile four police officials were booked by Pirwadhai police on charges of extorting money from a man running a fake mobil oil factory in a residential area.
The police said they had received complaints that Ahmed Nawaz was running a fake mobil oil factory in the residential area. Acting on the complaint, they raided the factory on Saturday night and arrested factory owner and his employees.
During preliminary investigation, the arrested persons revealed that they had been paying bribe to four police constables; two of them were posted at Pirwadhai police station.
The accused police officials are yet to be arrested.
WOMAN ROBBED: A woman was robbed of her gold bangles by two armed men in Saddar while four other persons were deprived of their motorcycles in different parts of the city on Saturday, police said.
Farzana Ishtiaq, the robbery victim, told the police that she was heading home after dropping her children to school when two motorcycle riders intercepted her and snatched her four gold bangles.
Khuram Shahzad’s motorcycle was stolen from Saddar, Musharraf Hussain’s motorcycle was taken away from New Town, Mohammad Nadeem’s motorcycle was stolen from Banni while Iftikhar Ahmed’s motorcycle was stolen from the Cantonment police area.
