The failure story!

LAHORE, Aug 23: Six colleges in Lahore, including a private institute, have shown less pass percentage than the Punjab University’s success rate of 24.67. While, in the Punjab University jurisdiction, six colleges have shown zero per cent results.

There are four other colleges which have shown zero per cent results either in science or arts group.

In Lahore, the Government

Degree College of Education,

Gulberg-II, has shown zero percent result. Seven candidates appeared in the BA examination and all were declared fail.

The Government Degree College for Boys, Model Town, has shown 10 per cent results. As many as 40 candidates appeared in the BA/BSc examinations and only four of them were declared successful.

The Government Islamia College, Railway Road, showed 13.08 per cent results. As many as 130 candidates sat for the BA and BSc examinations, of them 17 candidates were declared successful.

The Government Dyal Singh College has shown 13.95 pass percentage. Forty-three candidates had appeared for the BA and BSc examinations and only six of them got through.

The Wise College for Girls, Main Gulberg, has shown 14.29 pass percentage. The records show that 35 candidates appeared in the examination, five of them being successful.

Another state-run institution, the Government MAO College has shown 20.69 pass percentage as only 78 of the 377 candidates had been declared successful.

In the Punjab University jurisdiction, six colleges have shown zero per cent results. They are: the Government College, Bhai Pheru; the Government College, Isakhel; the Islamabad Model College for Boys, G10/4, Islamabad; the Government College, Chak 170-JB, Jhang; the Government Degree College, Murree; and the Government College, Qila Deedar Singh.

These colleges had sent the admission of nine, 11, two, 10, 23 and 27 candidates to appear for the BA or BSc examinations, respectively, but none of them could qualify.

The four colleges, which have shown zero per cent results either in BA or BSc group, are: the Government Degree College, Hafizabad; the Government PST College, Kamalia; the Government College for Women, Samundri; and the Government Allama Iqbal College for Women, Sialkot.

The first three colleges sent admission of 11, three and one candidates in BSc group, but none of the candidate could get through.

The last named college sent admission of 72 candidates for BA examination.
