Irrigation employees seek quota in jobs

SANGHAR, Aug 23: A large number of Irrigation Department employees protested outside the press club on Saturday for acceptance of their demands.

Activists of the union gathered in front of the irrigation office. They reached the press club after marching on different roads in the lead of Ranjhan Lohar, Hanif Shar, Irshad Soomro, Mubarak Chandio and others.

They were demanding employment for the children of deceased and retired employees and regularisation of Chotiyari reservoir employees.

They said that they had sent letters to PPP co-chairperson, Asif Ali Zardari, prime minister and minister for irrigation in this regard.

LAYWERS: Lawyers revived their protest on Saturday. They hoisted black flag atop the DBA office.

The DBA President, Anwar Mohammad Nizamani, and Ameer Ali Laskani, Zafar Hayat, Ratan Kumar and others said that the reinstatement of deposed judges without Iftikhar Mohammad Choudhry was not acceptable to them.
