KHAIRPUR, Aug 16: A large number of labourers working in tailoring shops took out a rally under the banner of Sachal Tailor Masters Labour Union Khairpur on Saturday for their demands.
They marched on various roads and reached Chhatti chowk where they staged a demonstration. They were wearing black armbands.
They told journalists that price hike and inflation had crossed all limits but shop owners were not paying them due wages.
They said they were being paid Rs50 to 60 for per suit which was insufficient. They demanded that their wages be increased by at least Rs20 per suit otherwise they would prolong their protest.
Leaders of various labour unions joined the hunger strike camp to express solidarity with them.
Later, a delegation of the union led by labour leader Amjad Lashari told journalists that police were harassing and forcing them to end hunger strike.
