GUJRANWALA, Aug 15: The Sabzi Mandi police claimed on Friday to have arrested two extortionists and recovered Rs450,000 they had taken from a trader.

The police said Aslam and Sikandar intimidated a trader, Awais Mustafa, and demanded Rs500,000 extortion. Awais paid Rs450,000 to them but they insisted on another Rs50,000, which prompted the trader to inform DIG Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema about the crime.

An SP Rana Abdul Jabbar-led team traced the mobile phone numbers of both extortionists and arrested them in a raid, also recovering the amount.
