Two shot dead over petty dispute

GUJRANWALA, Aug 12: A man and a woman were shot dead by their relatives over a petty dispute at Qila Didar Singh on Tuesday.

Reports said the accused, Manzoor, Saif Ali and Murtaza entered the house of one Irfan and opened indiscriminate fire on inmates following a quarrel among their children.

As a result, Arfan and his relative Shazia were killed on the spot. The accused escaped from the scene.

Police have registered a case against the accused.

COP KILLED: A police sub-inspector who was in charge of Alam Chowk post was shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists on the GT Road late on Monday.

SI Liaqat Ali was on his way to his house riding a motorcycle when two unidentified motorcyclists opened fire on him. He died on the spot.

The killers fled the scene. The police have registered a case.
