KARACHI, Aug 6: Army humiliated Pakistan Steel by defeating them at their home ground 1-0 and Karachi Electric Supply Corporation (KESC) beat Punjab Medical College (PMC) 2-1 in the Pakistan Premier Football League matches on Wednesday.

The match at the Pakistan Steel Town ground saw both Army and Pakistan Steel failing to score in the entire first half although the Army kept ball possession for a longer time.

But the second half was a slight improvement as compared to the first one when Army’s striker Imran Hussain was successful in sending the ball past Steel’s keeper in the 48th minute. The rest of the match was as dull and unexciting as the first half.

The other match played between KESC and PMC at the People’s Sports Complex saw KESC’s striker Javed Hamza scoring in the 18th minute by converting winger Aftab Ahmed’s pass to him. The score was 1-0 at halftime.

The second half saw PMC equalising in the 63rd minute through a penalty kick taken by their skipper Haroon Yousuf. The match was heading towards a draw when KESC’s midfielder Lal Mohammad scored off a long pass sent his way from centerfield in injury time.
